This is the prototype website of the Images of England project. "Between 1999 and 2002 hundreds of volunteer photographers, all members of the Royal Photographic Society (RPS), will capture a single defining image of the exterior of every listed building in England. These 360,000 images will then be linked to existing listing information about the buildings, creating a unique digital library of England's rich architectural heritage. [...] Visitors to the site will be able to search the first 15,000 photographs of listed buildings (including the accompanying written List Entries)". Thousands of images are already available for viewing.
